Default A few questions from a new(er) user.

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

So I've been messing around with my Bold for some time now, and I have a few questions that I can't solve.

Is there a way to sort SMS messages by Sender?

Also, do I have to manually change my time zone every time I travel? That seems pretty ridiculous that an average phone can, but a BB can't.

Is there a way when I send an email from my phone, NOT to get a copy of it back in my email?

Thanks guys!

1. Not that I know of.

2. The manual time zone change is actually a feature, not a bug. This is especially important for business users.

3. As far as your e-mail, depending on your provider, this should help:

1. Go to Contacts, hit Menu>Activity Log this will give you all calls, SMS, Emails, pins, etc to/from that contact.

I'm fairly certain this is not what the OP is trying to do.
He wants his SMS sorted by sender. That is how you have your SMS sorted for a specific sender.

If you click on the a message [adjustable in options-> sms txt "number of previous items" will show up to 50 previous messages]

You can also search by contact and limit to received or sent/received sms texts

There may be pay solution but nothing I know offhand. Do you really need more than 50 previous txt message though?

That only works if you always "reply" to the old messages. If you compose a new message then it won't show any previous items at all. I am not about to hunt though my 300 messages a day to find the last time that person messaged me so I can Reply to their message.

So at best you will see 2 previous messages, certainly not ever 50.

Man I can't stand that feature in Windows Mobile! It changes your entire calendar, not just the entries for the period you're in the other time zone. Past appointments that I keep as a record get altered as well. Then you sync to a computer and PRAY it doesn't dupe all your appointments. Blackberry got it right: leave my calendar alone!

I am So with you. I can't remember how many times I had to fix all my appointments one by one after WM messed up all of their time zones.

Also when you have an "All Day" appointment and then you change timezones it changes the time of that appointment too!! Lets say I have an All Day appt on wednesday and then I go to a timezone 3 hours behind, that appointment is no longer All Day it is now 9pm on tuesday until 9pm on wednesday. How does that make any sense? Grrrr...
