Default Nextel vs. T-Mobile

Please Login to Remove!

Just wondering if anyone out there is familiar with using BB on both Nextel and T-Mobile.

Nextel's monthly unlimited price is $50/month and does not work in Mexico.

T-Mobile's unlimited price is $29.95 and data service will work in Mexico.

I vacation there, and having access to data service while not crucial would be convenient.

I am contemplating a switch to T-Mobile.

Thanks!!

One of the main reasons why I bought 7105t was the cost of the unlimited BIS service from T-mobile. It is only $19.99 per month when you also include a voice plan. Nextel, Verizon and Cingular all charge between $45 and $50 for BB unlimited plans. I am very happy with the service as well.

How about wireless email reconciliation with ISP POP accounts like GMail? Doesn't work on Nextel. Does it work on T-mobile?

If Tmobile had the direct connect that Nextel has I would flip faster than a flap jack on a red hot griddle.
I absolutley do not like Nextel one bit but every contractor around here uses it and therefore I must.
I like this thread cause it helps me to weigh the diferences. since I have been using the bluetooth ear peice I have been using the dc less and less as long as its a phone from sprint or nextel cause i hvae mobile to mobile.
Nextel better get with it and quit charging so much or they are gonna start loosing people.

Tmo is the only carrier low balling the data pricing because Tmo has nothing to offer other than low price.

WE have both. For international (outside of continental U.S.) T-mobile or Cingular are great. Inside the continental U.S., Nextel is better: better reception, better coverage, better rural coverage (in our experience), better building penetration, plus the Nextel BlackBerrys have direct connect and speaker phones.

For U.S., only we find the higher priced nextel to be the better value. No point in paying less to have the phone work less.

I know I have said this before, but in our corner of the US (FL), the Nextel Network has become so overloaded and the coverage so spotty that it continues to drive peoplw in our department insane. I have yet to get a response from Nextel other than "We are working on upgrading in your area".

My recommendation is to take advantage of the 14-day return period. If it's not worth it, you can give it back (you would only pay for the days you used it).

These contracted plans can really nail you if you're not careful...

I am on Nextel and have gotten coverage in a few more places than my sister did on her 7290 within the WA, OR, ID areas, but I have also had wierd spots of no coverage in urban areas. If my company didn't pay for my BB, I would be on t-mobile. The price is much better and the 7290 is smaller than my 7520. And hopefully soon, T-mobile will be out with the 8700 series and EDGE. No such luck on Nextel.

Can you do that? How? I have Nextel for voice and I also have the unlimited BB data plan for $45 (but I thought this was billed from Blackberry directly or something). How can I switch my data plan from Nextel to T-mobile? And does that mean I will get wireless email reconciliation too?
