Default What 3rd party (or otherwise) tools is everyone using?

Please Login to Remove!

I manage a fairly small group of Blackberrys on a BES, around 800 and received a call from a company by the name of "Zenprise". I agreed to sit through a webinar type deal that outlined what this program of theirs did. I must admit, I was quite impressed with all of the reporting and analyzing it was capable of. After the demonstration, I got to wondering if there might be similar tools that some of you all are using to monitor, analyze, etc. your BES/Blackberry environment.

Although Zenprise would easily accommodate my small group of users, it would be overkill to say the least as I believe it was designed for a much larger environment.

So, as the title states, what are some of the tools, if any that everyone is using on their BES servers to help organize, analyze, etc?? Thanks!!

You might want to change your title, as it doesn't actually say that (monitoring that is)! And as for monitoring tools, there are quite a few threads about that so it's worth having a search first.

I like that you think 800 is "fairly small" though, nice . I have enough troubles with ~400!

Zenprise and Boxtone are the leaders in the space. Both are fantastic products - I just don't have the budget cycles. I actually sat with the CEO of Zenprise as WES last year and he is a great guy and wants to understand the needs of BES admins and what we want to see in a tool like this.

Outside of the licensed based tools I use these daily:

- Resource Kit (many of the tools are great, I have Message confirmation running 24/7 to validate everything is working)
- BerryStats - love this "app" it has help tremendously with reporting as well giving access to this reporting to others so it's not all on me.
- Mobile Viewer - great for when your training, screenshots of your BB
