We have been having issues lately with attachments on our BBs. The problem occurs when someone receives an email on their BB that contains an attachment. When they reply to that email, the attachment is removed. When someone tries to read the email from the Notes client the attachment will not open because technically it's not there but it leaves a picture of the attachment so it appears it's there. The attachments are in standard formats - txt, doc, etc. Nothing real unusual.

If the person forwards the message instead of replying, the attachment is there but the icon for the attachment looks like a gif image (DOC files do not have the WORD icon) but you can open it.

I called RIM Support and they said the problem is due to the fact that LOTUS Domino by default retains the attachment when replying when most email packages do not retain the attachment when replying. I asked why sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't. They had no answer to that one.

Has anybody else seen this issue with attachments & using BES/LOTUS Domino 6.5? We are runnig Lotus Domino 6.5.4 and Notes Client 6.5. BES is version 4.0

I dont normally work with Lotus but that sounds correct. If you reply to an email that has an attachment the attachment is technically removed. This is the same for any email client [Outlook for example]. You would definitly need to forward the email if you want the attachment to stay attached to the email message.
