Default I think My 7100i Speaker is DOA

Please Login to Remove!

I just bought a brand new 7100i from Nextel last week. Well, I started getting curious when I never heard the thing ring.. not once (no jokes about my social life, please).

I changed the profile settings to "loud" and .. quiet as a monk in his grave. It buzzes when I get a call or email, but no audio. I went back to profile and hit the wheel to listen to some of what it calls "tunes" and cranked up the volume to high. Nothing. Is there something I'm missing or is this thing busted?

Edit: I should add that speakerphone works fine.

Make sure in your profiles that you have a tone selected, and that its not "muted".... In your out of holster settings, make sure its set to "tone" and not "vibrate".... if its still a problem, NSP is a good thing!!

Yes, I have checked all those things. Still silent. What is NSP?

We had the same problem with one of our's that came in. Couldn't get it to make a peep. A reseat of the battery took care of the problem for us. I hope that's all it is for you also.

Reseat of the battery? Do you mean, taking the battery out and putting it back in? What does that do? OK, I will try it.

Default Speaker did same thing

My volume did the same thing. It worked when they first activated me today and then stopped after that. Started surfing to find the answer and found this group! Thanks for the advice... took battery out and put it back in and voila its working again. WIERD.

I second the battery removal. my 7130e speaker stopped working a little while after I got it home. I removed the battery and replaced it, waited for about 30 minutes for the hour glass to spin on the start-up screen and it has worked fine since.
