This question is legit as it doesn't discuss the actual process.

That being said, I have my device unbranded with MFI. I noticed that my phone takes FOREVER too boot up. I'd say about 4 minutes longer than normal. Anyone know a way to fix this??

Well....to tell you the truth it could be any number of things. When you say its unbranded, do you mean that it shows the "BlackBerry" logo on startup? If so, how long does it display?

Un branded by the software. I get the berry logo on startup and sometimes in the browser.

My Bold is stock at&t issue. One of the few disappointments I've had is how long it takes to boot. I should time it, but I'm guessing 5 minutes.

This is a problem when it occassionally reboots for some unknown reason when I'm in the middle of something work related. 5 minutes seems like forever at times like that.

Hello RIM! We need shorter boot times.

i definitely agree. the boot time is so long that it's not unusual for me to forget why i did the reboot! (heck it's rebooting now ....for some dang reason.

That's encouraging. My Blackberry is a comany BES based device so there's no beta firmware for me. But it sounds like RIM has got the message about boot time and has come up with a fix.

I hope we'll see V5 as an official at&t release some time soon.

I have used/tried about 8 or 9 different Bold OS's, and starting with 4.6.0.2xx+ series of OS's, the boot time decreased significantly. To clarify, specifically .220, .224, .244 and .247 all had much lower boot times than any of the predecessors I have tried (.134, .162, .167, .185, .190).

I'm using .247 and I have had very quick boot times, I just did a battery pull and timed it and it took 105 seconds (1 min 45 secs) from battery insert to IM clients logging in (which is what I use as my "go signal" that my phone is ready for me)
