Default Phone in pond

Please Login to Remove!

So my boss dropped his 8900 Javelin into a pond and grabbed it as soon as he could.

Not knowing what to do, he pulled to battery and took a blow dryer to it and the back of the phone.

I don't know how dry it is inside and I gace the rice thing a try.

I turned it on, the white screen with the clock face was on for quite sometime and then it went on. The ONLY thing that works is scrolling around with the trackball. It rolls around, but it does not push.

Something tells me it might end up ok, but I don't know what to do from here.

Is there a reset button of some sort? Is it the end of my bosses phone?

Can anybody please help me???

Thanks,
Goplanit

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

Hmm. I would have left the battery out and placed the device in a sealed bag of rice for the next five days. I hope you had insurance

Wirelessly posted (Curve)

My Curve stayed out in a rainstorm for 3 or 4 hours one evening. It was on when it fell into the grass, too. I followed the instructions in the faq for a full five days and it worked perfectly except I had to replace the battery. I don't know if it will work in your case but for others who have this problem, hopefully my experience will be encouraging.

Well I tried the whole rice thing, it booted up, but now none of the keys work. Would anyone know how to fix the keys?
