THANK YOU to all who posted their experiences with a Blackberry that went for an unexpected swim! I fished my 3 week old 7105 from the depths yesterday morning and feared the worst but never gave up hope.

I immediately removed the battery and per fellow posters advice placed the unit under a desk lamp for roughly 6 hours. It came back to life, but the right side keys were returning left side values. Now panic started setting in. I more search of the forum and I decided to take things to the next level. Off the radio shack to find a T6 screw driver. Note: If you do not already own one you need to purchase one immediately.

I disassembled the unit (if you're compatent enough to own a Blackberry you can handle this). I found the corrosion on the keypad connector, carefully scrapped it clean and reassembled. Works as good as new!

Thanks Again everyone!

wow, glad to hear it. i'm not sure if this is a universal thing and/or if it applies to the BB but often providers put a strip of litmus or another water-damage indicator, making it very difficult to warranty a device that's been exposed to water - so thankfully you were resourceful to fix it yourself, glad it worked out!

Yeah, coming from the world of Retail Sales, I just LOVE it when I'm handed a moist phone and THEN i'm told it went for a swim in the toilet. Thank you Jergens instant hand sanitizer!

Nope, wasn't in a baggie and yep it was still dripping.
