Default Media Card as RAM

Is it possible to use the MICRO SD card as added device memory? If so, how do you do that?

Nope, the BlackBerry OS doesn't do that. I don't know of any mobile OS that does, except for the old Palm OS on the Treo phone, and they had problems with this. As it stands now, the media card in a BlackBerry is for storing media only. That's ringtones, music, pictures, and documents. All applications must go into the device's internal memory.

RIM has been addressing the need for more internal memory by building all newer models with way more than previous ones. My first BlackBerry, the 7230, had a paltry 16 MB of memory total, and no media card slot. In contrast, my 8330 has 96 MB of internal storage PLUS a media card.

I beg to differ, guys.

I have not checked into it, but my at&t rep gave me the name of an app thath will allow microSD memory to be used for apps. Now you would not be able to transfer the app to memory card, you would delete off phone and reinstall oto SD card.

The name of the app is: Aerize

As I said, I have not checked it out yet. If you find good info please post it here.

You really should before you beg to differ. This app is NOT designed to extend the RAM out to the card, creating more working memory. It simply stores apps for install later from the card. Very different animal.

So you can re-install them to the internal memory for use!
