need to change PIN dont wanna change phone
Please Login to Remove!
Some imbecil twittered my PIN number, i´m kinda of a personality in my home country and basically it´s driving me mad, but i dont want to change my bold i´d rather give up a leg than my phone, i dont mind talking to the carrier or buying some app i just need some peace of mind, and be able to keep my phone all at the same time.
pretty please i really need help.
On the other hand if i change phones can i install the apps i´ve bought without paying again????

Not possible to change the PIN.
It's hardcoded to the device itself.
Only way to get a new PIN is to get a new BlackBerry.

As far as installing apps without having to pay for them again, it depends on the company that you bought it from. Some allow this, while others don't. You will need to check with the company's support.

I agree with 'penguin3107'...the PIN cannot be changed. So unfortunately you'll have to contact Comcel for a replacement unit.

Ok, seeing that you really want the PIN to change and I like you a lot. I'm gonna give you the name of a guy who can sort this out for you. Now, don't go blabbing about it, because I'll deny it and this guy will not be too pleased.
The name of the guy you need to talk to is Jim Balsillie. Just tell him I sent you and he'll change your PIN just like that (I'm snapping my fingers).
Oh if Jim's not there ask for Mike Lazaridis, he's just as good.

ok so after I get the appointment with any of the RIM VP´s and get my behind thrown out the door, i´ll guess i´ll just have to buy a new phone...
Any suggestions as which???, I had a Storm and i hated it, so another bold, what about the Tour???

Midnightdraven is correct, the Tour will not work with your carrier because of the technology difference (CDMA vs. GSM). So you should probably should just get another Bold or if Comcel has the new Curve 8900 you can consider that model; it's a nice one too. However, you'll be going down to a smaller device.

Stay away from 8900...
...in my opinion it has some serious battery issues. I have them both and although I updated the op. system (numerous times) the 8900's battery life is way below that of the Bold's. Also for web browsing, I find the 8900 a lot slower.

Just for the record, the PIN can be changed but for the most part, not by schmoes like you and me.
It is done with software and engineering screens that we are not allowed to talk about here. The procedure has been posted elsewhere along with screenshots (take them for what you will) on a known BB-oriented tech blog, and if you look hard enough, you will find it.
That said, another matter entirely would be what to change the PIN *TO*. You can't just go pulling numbers out of a hat, or pick high numbers, etc. The best bet would be to find or buy a non-functional BB and use it's PIN.

Yes, it can be changed. But I am pretty sure that the BlackBerry could no longer receive e-mail. But the PIN was changed.

Did I miss it discussed in this thread, but if he just wants his PIN messages blocked....
Options > Security > Firewall > block PIN messages.
And if the OP is a personality, he probably will be able to easily afford to purchase the applications again for a new device.
