My trackball isn't working. I cleaned it then replaced it. It still doesn't work.
work. I can scroll with it but it won't click. I have to use my "enter" key instead to open an application.

Is there anything I can do to fix it myself?

It's not the trackball. It's corrosion on the contact underneath it between the circuit board. To fix see:

This is a common problem with these phones...When cleaning the trackball assembly, make sure it is dry before you reassemble. Also, avoid cleaning the "copper" contact under the trackball. This is where moisture gets in and corrodes the contact.

Thanks, that must have contributed to my problem. I have had my 8830 for only 18 months and have gotten into the habit of squirting lens cleaner onto the trackball and screen or disassembling the trackball assembly and cleaning it and the "copper" contact the same way. From now I will avoid getting the trackball wet. If it needs cleaning I will clean the whole assembly so I make sure it is dry and I will also stay away from the "copper" contact.
