Google Maps - Certificate Has Expired Error Message
Please Login to Remove!
So I use Google Maps w/ the Bold's GPS all the time to see what traffic looks like around NYC. The last two days, whenever I start Google Maps, I keep getting prompted with a pop up that reads "You are attempting to open a secure connection, but the server's certificate has expired". It gives me three options "Continue", "Close Connection" and "View Certificate". The first two options seem to do the same thing....the prompt goes away for a few minutes (sometimes a few seconds) and then comes back....no real pattern to it (sometimes I go 30 minutes between prompts, other times 30 seconds or less).
Anyone else getting this? Any idea how to fix it. I have the latest version of Google Maps 3.0.2.

I have the same problem, apparently att has not updated their ssl certificate. You can't do anything about it. We have to wait for att to fix this.

I don't know why they forget to update their certificate (their worker probably fell asleep at their desk or something), probably going to take a few days.

I can't recall exactly when it started, but I think it started Friday. Considering I was driving around SD and from SD to OK over the weekend, it has driven me crazy too.

The error message states that the certificate expired on July 17, 2009 at 4:59:59. So far AT&T support has been worthless. Their two options are uninstall/reinstall the Google Maps app and contact Google.

It appears that AT&T has resolved the issue... I have tried Google Maps several times over the past hour and don't get the certificate expired message any more. Can anyone else confirm?

I am still getting this error:

Is it just me?
I have resent service books, did battery pulls, etc. It comes up twice in succession every time I open Google Maps and also first thing on every battery pull.

That is NOT the same issue... the problem last week as an expired certificate... that affected everyone who tried to use it. The untrusted certificate has to do with (I think) permissions on your particular BlackBerry... not sure how to fix it though...
Have you used Google Maps before on that phone or is this a new phone/first time?

Go to options, advanced, application, go down to google maps, click menu, permissions, make sure allow is on all of them. |

Did that...still getting it. I've tried selecting "trust certificate", "continue", etc. Always comes up.

Try a battery pull, uninstall reinstall google maps, then finally call AT&T and see whats going on cause it has been fixed for me.
