I agree, this OS is pretty damn good.
Thanks for this EDGE tip! I'd been working for months on a 9530 running 4.7.0.075 (which was the only one that worked consistently with EDGE for me) but the OS was terribly slow and lacked some of the other refinements i saw in later OSes. I tried just about every OS i could find but had to alas... return to the old .075 much to my dismay. This was because 'EDGE' kept going back to 'edge' and frustrating me.

this new OS was doing me the same thing... that is until i decided to kill the APN settings as you suggested. Almost from the very moment i did that, the EDGE appeared and several hours later is still with me! Hurray! Before making this change the EDGE would flip flop every couple minutes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I have my network settings still at 'Global' tho. Don't even want to breathe too close to the network settings Hope it stays and... thanks!

regards,

.../ian

yes. start hiding the icons you can see. Keep hiding the icons one by one till the option icon shows up.

Is .151 stable for anyone running a 9530 or 9500 on T-Mobile?

The OS is from a carrier in Mexico, and their primary language is Spanish.
Dont worry, it installs in English just fine.

Because this upgrade isn't offered by Verizon, and the wireless upgrade is to get the latest OS version approved by Verizon.
So far, so good. After getting past the Spanish instructions, everything proceeded smoothly. Apps open/close faster, transitions are different (I don't care either way), but the one thing I have noticed is that battery life seems to be better. Maybe it's the memory leak fix that's helping, but my phone has not been plugged in for about 20 hours, and I still have 70% of battery left. I was only getting about 10 hours out of a charge before. This is great!

One thing, though - It didn't fix my problem with messages read on my desktop not getting marked as read on the BlackBerry. Oh, well, minor issue.

Smile Working well so far!

Count me as another using the new update on Verizon. No issues installing, except the software waiting at one point for the phone to reboot, and it didn't on it's own. Pulled the battery and it worked fine the rest of the way.

Default I click and don't get what I need...

I clicked on the link and I am taken to a page that wants me to download a different version. The following is what is says I will be downloading:

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.7.0.172 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.7.0.172
Consisting of:
Applications: 4.7.0.122
Software Platform: 4.0.0.153
File name: 9530AMEA_PBr4.7.0_rel172_PL4.0.0.153_A4.7.0.122_Iu sacell.exe
File size: 104.43MB

This is obviously not the .151 version that is being raved about. I tried using the second link in the originial post, and that took me to .148's download page.

What am I doing wrong?

Looks like the link has been updated on RIM's site to .153 from .151, JSanders should update the information here or create a new sticky if the information .153 change is correct.

Sorry, that is applications platform 4.7.0.122, older.

Seems that the carrier Iusacell has pulled 4.7.0.151 and only 4.7.0.122 remains

I'm sorry for the total lack of knowledge in completely understanding one version to the next, but can someone break down to me what this will mean to me if I download this version?

Nothing to worry about.

JSanders - So, if I understand you correctly, if I download the version that is currently available from Isucell, I will get essentially what everyone is saying is the latest and greatest?

Once again, sorry for my total lack of knowledge, but I want to be sure I don't screw my Storm up! LOL!

Talking Only 1 or 2 Issues

This OS worked great ...except for two things: my themes would not work properly & I had my Storm rebooting everyday! It is an awesome OS though ...but for me, I did decide to stick w/ an official Verizon OS. THAT'S JUST ME. Like I said ...this new OS is very very nice.
