Means you are not connecting to RIM, otherwise on 3G. Are you getting emails and data at all?

However, the phone seems to have a problem with regaining a BIS connection. All I get is the "3G" icon (not "3g"), but no BB icon.

Anything that I should be aware of? FWIW, I am using the East Asian package on a non-AT&T Bold.

TIA for any advice!

Some updates after some more testing...

1) The longer it sits locked after a restart, the more times the error will appear successively. I woke up this morning and had to click "OK" 30 or 40 times.

2) It's not just after a reboot, it's after any time the device locks *and* Content Protection kicks in.

3) Bringing me to the last point, it seems to be Content Protection. I've had it temporarily disabled from my IT Policy and when that was done, no more error.

So, it seems that App World tries to do something periodically and when Content Protection is "engaged", App World pukes on it. Lovely.

Just got a Bold from eBay.
I would like to upgrade with this fw.
Should I follow the instructions in the first page using the loader.exe update procedure?

Ps: is there a way to edit the Bold 9000 handheld files so to get a lite version of it like it was possible with the Pearl 8100 handheld files?? -->> Losing Call Logs, SMS or Emails? Optimize your BB! How To Setup for max free memory!

Should not need too with this build. You should end up with 30+mb free.

The only way I can get it to work is with ATT themes. The other 3 hide VVM.

Its probably "hidden" in a folder or try "show all" to find it. The icon is not theme controlled. The only thing out of control is the national debt and the future of our kids.

Default Battery LIfe

Any thoughts on battery life with this OS?

Mine's been out the charger since 8am (4:15pm UK now) and used normally & im at 75% when have been as low as 50% at this stage so initially seems better....

What's other people's experience after a full days use?

Default Os Keeps Freezing

I just updated my OS last night with the latest official release. Since then, my phone locks up after sitting around for a few minutes. It might be when it is turning off the screen, but i'm not sure. Fed up with it, I wiped my phone through the settings while at work. I even wiped the 3rd party apps. Nevertheless, it is STILL freezing up.

It never did this before the OS. is anyone else having this issue?

Either way, does anyone have any suggestions or things to check?

PLEASE HELP!

Did you actually read this thread? More specifically, did you read the message two posts above yours?

i wiped my phone by going into options and security and you can choose to wipe your phone there.

I tried this today after I did it normally through desktop manager yesterday.

That just wipes the user data from your device. You may want to try wiping it using JL_Cmder and then reloading the OS. JL_Cmder will turn it into a brick and then you can start from scratch.

I finally got things cleared up with vvm working on and off. I have a TON of more memory available(15mb to 32mb). The only glitch I'm seeing now is that the general messages icon will still show a notification asterisk after you auto view a message by removing the bb from the holster. I view it, go back to the home screen and the icon is still present (not the new notification at the top of the homescreen, but the actual message icon), I have to go back into the message folder and back to homescreen to clear the asterisk.

Do you use your messages folder? I just hide the icon for mine and use the individual folders for everything.
