i have tmobile 8320.

it works great with my tmobile sim. but when i put in a pre-paid ATT sim card it says SOS(i was in a big city when testing)

note: Tmobile sent me a email of how to unlock it, so i put in that code and that was all I done.......... so can anyone help me? please

Sounds like it's not really unlocked. It's not unheard of for a carrier to give you a bogus code. Here's how to check.

You could also be in an AT&T dead spot where the signal is too weak to register. If you moved around by say, a couple of blocks, and it still said "SOS", then coverage is probably not the problem. After inserting the AT&T pre-paid SIM card you might do a battery pull to restart and refresh settings. Always worth a try.

SOS is you phone looking for signal. I can think of tw causes in your case. 1) your phone isn't unlocked. Double check the code and that you followed the steps correctly. You can check the BB FAQ page here for more info about unlocking. 2) if your phone IS unlocked then its your card. Either its not seated properly or it bad or the contacts may be dirty. To check the sim get a buddy who is on ATT and put your sim in that phone if your sim works on an ATT phone them its most likely option one.

i did that. i went to the sim card options and everything says disabled. I tried it with 2 prepaid sim card. although the one I tried it with in the big city that sim card reads REGISTRATION failed when putting it in a att phone but it still works.......so now I bought A new att sim card I will go to town and see if this new att card will work.

so yes it seems it is unlocked. Also I have wifi at my house so shouldnt something work. I cant even use opera mini while im at home.......

one more thing. do I suppose to set up anything for SMS/Internet to work under options? if so I havent set up anything.

SMS and data are 2 entirely different things. SMS should work regardless. You need a BB data plan for data. You might need to change the TCP settings.
