Default Media Card Issues

Please Login to Remove!

I cannot get my media card to show up on my bold when it is attached to my pc. I believe that it is a Windows 7 issue. The card works fine if I take it out of the bold and plug it into a reader. I have all of the settings right on the bold. Is anyone else on Windows 7 having this problem?

On the devices I've used if the Mass Storage mode is on you can't access the memory card while attached to a PC. Under Options\Memory you can change it to prompt to turn this on when the device is attached.

Thanks for your response. I have tried every combination of settings with no luck. I just tried turning off mass storage mode to see but no dice. I am open to anyone else's suggestions. I loved being able to sync my phone with itunes and am bummed that it won't work anymore.

I'm on Windows 7 and don't have this issue. Might I suggest that you place the card in the reader, copy all files onto your laptop/desktop then place the SD card back in the BlackBerry and format it using the BlackBerry, then connect it to your laptop and see if that works.

Thanks for confirming yours works with Windows 7. I tried reformatting the card yesterday and it didn't work. I saw on another message board that the blackberry wanted to show up as drive F. I have a dvd drive associated as F. Can someone confirm whether this is the letter you have showing up with your bb? If this isn't a potential cause I will uninstall and reinstall an earlier version of BB desktop.

Well I'm not at my desk now so I don't remember the drive letter, but you should be able to right-click on the drive letter for your cd drive and change that letter to something else.

I'll post back on my drive letters when I get back into office.

No it does not have to be F drive. try reformatting the card in the actual pc rather than the bold and see how that goes. Then once it formats in the pc, try it out. If it does not work. Reformat it in the pc again. Put it in the bold, then once again, format it in the bold and see how that goes.

It's not a Windows 7 issue.

I am definitely stuck. Uninstalled and reinstalled blackberry desktop software. The phone syncs with blackberry desktop fine. Neither Media Sync or the Mass Storage Mode work. The blackberry shows up on the control panel as an unspecified device. I have no idea how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

Did some searches on a couple of other forums. Here's the link I found that fixed it:

Mass Storage issues? (Here's the fix) - Discussed in BlackBerry Multimedia forum - PinStack.com - Smartphone Professionals Alliance.

I had unlocked and debranded my phone to get the 2G/3G switching capability. When this became available on AT&T ROM's I rebranded my phone back to AT&T and must have lost the mass storage capability. The file referenced in the attached link fixed the problem.

Oh, you didn't mention that you used that software to unlock and debrand.

I didn't make the connection on the timing of rebranding the phone. Thanks for all of your suggestions.
