Default Thinking about returning BOLD and waiting for the new BOLD

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I have been a bb user with my 8800 and my 8200 for some time. My last 8820 died last week so I opened a new contract and got me the BOLD.

First impressions are good but I have a few issues with RIM, not really BOLD.

The vibration is too soft, nothing compared to the 8800 vibration. Also I feel that charging time has increased dramatically.. like 1.5 times the original BB 8800

I feel that the memory on the phone is not enough. 3 years later RIM should be selling the top of line phone with more capacity. Having only 20-30 MB free is not acceptable.

I refuse to migrate even though I have an iphone for my house wifi etc.. kids etc..

I am seriously thinking about honoring the ATT offer for them to take the phone back for a refund and waiting for a BOLD while I just get a use 8800 to hold me over till the new BOLD is released in a few months etc..

My short question to you guys is.. Will the 5.0 OS transform the current 9000 device to a much better BB?

By the way, if you have any hardcore Iphone 3g S friends, tell them to open pandora and try to do anything else on their 32Gig phone while pandora is playing in the background..lol OOPS FAIL!!

Thank for your reading.. I would be really depressed being locked on a 2 year new contract with a phone that is not the best available from RIM

OS 5 to me at least will not improve the problems you have with the Bold.
It will be more "glitzy" offering tabbed browsing, new screen layouts, threaded SMS.

It wont improve memory by much nor the vibration.

However the Bold 2 (9700) is only be annoucned OFFICIALLY on t-mobile.
Whether At&T will get it, we don't know.
As it is a t-mobile 3G device.

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

Its tempting to wait if you can. Many of the carriers learned from VZW's mistake with the Storm. I expect the 9700 to impress

Where are you getting this information? The 9700 is in AT&T's system now, and there are field testers that are reporting on it.

For example:

Doh! Well, you should be able to get decent money for it (assuming it's not in pieces, of course) when the time comes.

ATT is definitely going to get it, look at the post by ifoneonline and google it.

Okay... we seem to be going round and round here. So, to recap:
  • The 9700 is coming to AT&T
  • Midnightdraven understands that it is coming to AT&T

So, there is no need to continue posting proof that it is coming to AT&T, and there is no need to continue explaining to Midnightdraven that it is coming to AT&T.

yeh. thanks.

Miami...I dont go to crackberry. That was never posted in the rumours section here about it. Hence why I didnt know.

Anyway, that would suggest that it can come to T-mobile UK next year.
As I was confused by the whole different 3G frequencies thing.

Awesome!

See, now this is where I am a bit confused... I had understood that T-Mobile UK was on different frequencies than T-Mobile US, and that UK was the same as AT&T. Maybe? Maybe not?

In any case, I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on this device. It is more in tune with what I am looking for in a cellular device.

I assume this too.
But that T-mobile US is different from AT&T
Hence the "you wont get 3G on a Bold activated on T-mobile"
