Default unlocking selling and a few simple questions

Please Login to Remove!

1. First, the.unofficial date for the tmo 9700 is 11/11, correct
2. If I just got a refurb phone or new (they say u never know) would u use that as a selling point, or would u simply stick to 'excelleny shape'
3. I won't have all the money to get the phone until I sell it less the hundred they allow u to put on ur bill (depends on person). I amk worried about if I sell my phone first I have to reloaqd all the apps but a rep said no backup the 3rd party apps too. I thought I kknew and read here, and RIM said there is no way to backup apps unless gotten on App World. Correct. So the only feasible way is to deal with reinstalling apps OR selling it holding it til I get the phone, and then doing a device swap
4. Lastly, and the main question. I am selling as unlocked. Will doing a security wipe relock and will it relock all vendor previously unlocked themes. If not it would be safe to not do the wipe but top swap them and to simply choose the option to simply erase all personal data. OR SHOULD YOU ALWAYS SELL BY DOING A WIPE

Thanks for helpong me do what will help me, the buyer *n and be safe. Excuse the typing. In hospital now with 550 sugars again cause of cortisone

Eric

1. correct? No. The announcement of when it will be released is Oct. 21st.
2. To sell a device? I would describe the condition. Depending on where you're selling it. (ebay for example) you can be reported for not describing the item correctly.
3.No, you look in the Blackberry FAQ above about how to backup third party apps.
4.No, nothing can relock a phone.

Do I get the new phone, do the back up with trhe new devoice since I won't have a second phone with me...already sold?v could u expand if tome allows
4. will wiping relock the unlocked themes or not those also

3. you can do the backup now.
its actually really easy.
4. oh erm..possibly, probably.
i think a wipe handheld only wipes personal data, and theres a check box as to whether to remove 3rd party apps i believe.
if thats the case, anything OS related should remain the same.

Midnight...

thanks for everything so far. Home from hosp and looked up a few things.

Still a little leary about 3 and 4. And also that Oct 21 is just a date ABOUT the release date, NOT the release date. Glad I didn't sell that could really mess me up. No biggie tho. The real concern is how I use that backup you walked me thru (didn't do yet) and apply to a new device, possibly weeks later with a new pin no.

Whatever you want to call it, just one day after we learned an important announcement about its release date is going to be made on Oct. 21, comes news that T-Mobile USA will begin selling the Onyx/Bold 2/9700 on Nov. 11. That’s if a post from the Boy Genius Report is to be believed. That site’s source is one of their “trusted insiders,” who goes by Carlo. No word if Carlo has any aliases.

3. following the instructions, you get a folder with .alx and .cod files in it.
when you want to put them on a new device, you open desktop manager
go to application loader
add/remove programs
you then browse for the .alx file in that folder.
do for every program
they will appear in the main window, hopefully checked and you go through as though you were updating and it will add them to the new phone.

be aware though that some apps will be designed only for your current device, and as we don't know what OS the ONyx will come with, some apps may not work on that OS.
