to make a long story short, I dropped my blackberry in water, so I had to make a warranty claim.

I got a new 8330. Shortly after using it, on the normal profile, external sounds stopped working. I could even try to scroll through the ringers--no sound. I tried to play music--no sound.

I took it to the local Verizon store. The guy took the battery out and put it back in and claimed it was fixed. I thought I was stupid.

I went back home and later that night, it did it again. The sound just stopped for no reason.

I made another claim, and Asurion sent me a new phone. I've had the phone for about a week and now it's doing the SAME thing. The sound just goes away randomly. It happens at least once a day. To make it work, I have to remove the battery and put it back in.

Does anyone know why this is happening??? Should I make yet another claim??? Or is there something i am doing? It's not on mute...it doesn't work on normal or loud or anything with noise when this happens. I can go into the profiles, edit them, and the sounds are on high.

Help is greatly appreciated.

I found a response in another forum that it's my version of software. Apparently it causes a "profile crash" and the sounds are lost. As I mentioned before, this happens multiple times per day. I downloaded a zip file that some posted on another forum and updated it on my bb. I will give you guys the link if that fixes my problem. I did find this problem on a lot of other forums--weird that none of you guys are having it....
