Default Browsing files on my home network?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I've just taken delivery of a Storm 2. So far, so good, though I've not had as much time to play with it as I'd like. SurePress 2 is much better than the original clicky screen job and everything is much slicker, plus they've dealt with all the really obvious omissions (e.g. the UK pound sign). It's certainly not the turd that the Storm was, no question about that.

The one thing I'd like to do, which I've never tried to do with a BB, is to browse the files on my wireless network in the house. I've looked in all the usual places for info on this but can't seem to find any discussion about it, let alone any apps that will let me do it. I guess what I want is the BB equivalent of Windows Explorer for PPC, i.e. a file browser with some means of logging into a Windows workgroup.

Any ideas, advice or suggestions would be most welcome.

Cheers!

SSDW

Thats because Blackberries just can't do it.
Its not like a laptop on wi-fi network that would show under Network.
Blackberries do not show under the network, and you cant browse anything that's on the network you're on.

There's a bunch of apps thatll let you brows file on your comp though and you can control most desk top functions from your phone. Search for desktop control or something. Umm someone help me out here I can't think of the correct name for it they advertise them on this site all the time but there are a bunch that are free that work just as good.

I use RDM+ and love it.
You buy a license for your Blackberry, and then you can install the software on as many PCs as you like.
I can browse and download files, remotely control the PC, and it comes in really handy.
