I used my wife's T-Mobile upgrade to get the 9700 for $199 so that I could trade/sell it for an AT&T 9700. I don't have the upgrade option on my AT&T account. It's brand new, never been used.

An unlocked T-Mobile 9700 will not work on AT&T's 3G network and vice versa. They use different bands for their respective 3G signals. However, yes unlocking will allow me to use all of the features on AT&T's EDGE network. But I want 3G, and I can wait for it.
