is it just me, or does the facebook app take like 5 seconds to open maybe even a bit more...its been a problem since i got the phone a few days ago..done a few battery pulls and it hasnt gotten any better..is this just my phone or is this common?

It is not your phone. I have the same problem.
I think the Facebook app is pretty crappy. I guess that explains why it takes forever.

its not the app, i dont think, cause on my tour it was very quick. oh well, maybe an update will solve it.

No, it's not your phone it is the crappy BB version for facebook. It would take for ever on my Storm 1 as well and hasn't really improved with my new 9550 Storm 2. Try using the mobile version of facebook it's much faster and gives you more versatility than the BB version.

It's not the phone or the app, it's FaceBook itself. They have had mutiple site problems over the last month. They have had numerous viruses and for about a week I was locked out on my PC and Storm and denied access. FaceBook really needs to invest some money into their website.

I second mdaughety's assessment.

Facebook was really great as the Myspace for adults but it expanded too fast for its own good and they really havent invested into upkeep as well as they should have.

But it still runs acceptably for a cellular phone application in my book.

Facebook is a free site for anyone to use, I think they do very well with what their company provides for customers. Even though we are non paying customers. I think they should be given more credit for the work they have done in providing free advertising for companies, group and event arrangements, and keeping in contact, and reuniting with old friends. Really they should be praised for their hard work. My BB app works perfectly for FB, granted the app is not as good as the iphone, but still... thats BBs fault, not FB.
