Default Movie on Sd card

Please Login to Remove!

While perusing the forums, I found an article located at "blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_add_media_files_to_my_microSD_card%3F"

Now I checked before and found some parameters so far as movies and what the specs have to be. I converted a 606 meg avi to the correct specs but when I move the movie from PC to Bb using the above tutorial it errors out and says there isn't enough space.

I have NO pics, nor music on this bb and when I check the storage capacity, it says it is only using 6.26 megs, which on a 1 gig card (standard Sd that came with the phone) it shows me 964 megs available yet still will not transfer the movie to the card. Pardon if my math is off, but I should be able to load a 606 meg movie to it.

Any ideas ?

Kindest regards.

You should certainly be able... using Mass Storage Mode enabled, just drag and drop the the file(s) from your PC to your Media Card, using My Computer on your PC.

Ok.. Because I tried the method that was posted above and it kept giving a lack of space error. I will try the drag and drop though Mycomp. Where is the mass storage mode setting ?

EDIT:
I did the drag and drop method as you suggested, when attempting to access the video for play it gives me an error. " An error occurred attempting to play this media."
the parameters of the movie are as follows:
Size:606 MB
Audio:
Bitrate 128kbps
Video:
Frame Height 240
Frame Width 320
Length 1:40.23

.avi format.

These are the parameters i thought would work as I am pretty sure they are listed in the FAQ.
I have checked the MASS storage setting ( did find it) and it is set to on and Yes.

Thanks for the help.

Anyone have any other words of wisdom to help me with ? Thanks!

If need be, I can upload the movie to my webserver so that it can be tested by someone else.

Wirelessly posted

I never had luck with avi. I know through experience that mp4 is more compatible and less prone to errors. You didn't list the framerate and that could be an issue also.

Ok... I will start with a conversion to MP4 and see if that does it. At least this sets me in the right directions if there were problems with AVI.. Thanks.

AVI format doesn't mean anything in itself. AVI is just a wrapper. What CODEC did you use? The BB supports a very limited number of CODECs.
