I recently deleted Blackberry AppWorld because it was doing strange things. It was trying to update Windows Live Messenger and itself without any success. It just kept showing "starting download" without downloading either program. After I deleted AppWorld and pulled the battery, I reinstalled it. Once restarted, it gave me the following message:

Uncaught exception: net.rim.vm.StackOverflowError

AppWorld will not even run. I deleted it again and tried restoring from a previous backup and installing it again only to get the same message. I'll admit, I'm a BB noob but this problem is frustrating and I would like to fix it and be able to run AppWorld.

Any suggestions/solutions would be greatly appreciated.

I get the exact same error since I attempt to upgrade to Blackberry App World version 1.1.0.24

Same error here.
When I tried upgrading to the latest version of App World using the old BB App World, I get the same error. Did 4 times uninstalling the application using Options -> Applications -> Add ons. I even tried reloading the device software ver 5.0.0.320 and still get the 'uncaught exception'.
I have the Storm 9550 from Verizon since November 15th and really wanted to have app world on this device.

Just called tech support from verizon and asked me to wipe. Will try it... hope this will work.

Same thing. I talked to Verizon and they have no clue. Nothing worked.
