I am surprised that nobody has mentioned this:

Recently, I discovered that my menus started displaying new items each time I reset my device. I mean every one of my menus had "Download Games" smack in the middle of my menu list. (If I clicked on it a browser would open up and try to sell me games). After a reset it switched to "Blackberry News", a battery pull and "Download Ebooks" showed up in the middle of every menu of every program from my native Browser to third party programs.

I tried restricting permissions and/or deleting every new application I have installed lately. I did this systematically and patiently. (It took a while since I recently started using OS5 and had been experimenting all sorts of applications to replace ones that would only work on 4.6)

Are you as unimpressed with the chutzpah of this developer as I am?

Is the name of the program ADware or Expose or something else? It is not entirely clear from your post.

This is why I am often hesitant to download and add anything to my phone. Every application wants to have full permissions to access every single bit of the phone when that type of access should not be needed. My main phone has nothing but Telenav and Google Maps.

What did you download to cause this? Delete it and see if that gets rid of the ads.

You might have to wipe it clean and do an OS reload to fix it.

You downloaded something called "ADware" onto your device, and now you're surprised that you're getting ads? Hmmmm.....

éxpose and Adware were my title. As I wrote in my posting (which seems to have been edited!)the name of the program was was BerryQuery. It was a program that automatically installed with MessageForward by S4BB. When I deleted that program the annoying menu items disappeared.

Here is approximately how the second to last ¶ in my original posting should have read:

"At last I discovered the culprit! I had installed a legitimate program distributed by S4BB. With it had installed automatically something called BerryQuery which seemed useless but harmless. I thought to leave it until I could figure out iif there is any benefit to it...... Now I discovered that it was the program placing the ads in my menu. Upon deleting it they are gone."

There's only one search hit for MessageForward on this site. Doesn't seem too surprising if no one's using the app.
