Default Build quality question

Please Login to Remove!

Anybody have very tiny bit of light peaking thru small spots around the chrome rails around the screen horizontal wise?

Also my left chrome rail creeks a little like it did in the 8800 series, is this normal or should I swap it, just got device it was made 10/31/09 in mexico batch 4 or whatever.

Just wondering if this is normal before my 30 days goes away.

I have that too but unfortunately, my 30 days are up and I'm on my second device because of it. It doesn't bother me all too much, I'm gonna have a case on it anyways. If there's a problem like that, then I'm gonna just use my warranty I guess. Nothing I can do about it now.

BlackBerry build quality is wildly inconsistant. My first 9700 had a screen that was noticeably higher on one side than the other. The trackpad was leaning oddly as well. The rear speaker put out distorted sound. It was just bad.

The second one is pretty good all around though.

I had similar complaints about the 8900 I had before that. The headset jack didn't work. The trackball stopped working after a few days. The next one was good.

This is apparently normal for BlackBerry devices.

I have very minor LED leak but I had to decide if that was worth the exchange and all the effort to get the new device "built" with all the apps and customization as well as the recent AT&T OS upgrade.

Other than this issue, my trackpad is solid and the device functions great. Decide what is really meaningful to you in terms of your device expectations and react accordingly. If this is your only issue, then you should be fine.
