The T-Mobile salesman told me that I could exchange information between two 7100t devices. An associate of mine has one as do I. While we can add each other's devices to our device list, we are unclear as to how we can exchange calendar, contact and task information. Does anyone know how to do this?
I think maybe your salesperson needs a little bit of training... There are 2 possible wireless ways to transfer data between devices... the first is infrared... because of US Gov't security policy, this has been disabled on *all* blackberry handhelds. The second is via bluetooth, but once again because of US Gov't security policies, the bluetooth implementation is strictly voice capable, no data what-so-ever. Beyond that, the only feasible way to do a data tranfser between the 2 devices are through SMS possibly, or through BES (ie. a public folder lookup).
If someone knows a better way, by all means let me know as this is one thing that the Palm based product have (IR vCard swap etc.) that BB's don't have, for the reasons listed above.

From day one, before 9/11, Research in Motion has been extremely security conscious. Triple DES encryption when using BES. No cameras, IR or BT data syncing. Everything very security. And corporations, the military and governments like that. A lot. And since the US Military and Government are among the largest RIM customers, they have retained their security focus.
And I hope they keep that focus. No need to call Michael Moore on this one.
I'm glad its not patriot act induced ! would be surprising since RIM is a Canadian company and I couldn't see them pandering to the US for that reason. but acquiring lucrative defense contracts is a good reason!
