Default 8300 to 9700 Incidentals

Please Login to Remove!

Recently purchased the 9700. A few questions concerning differences to the 8300 I had for years:

Why no calendar reminders on the home screen?
Is it really necessary to have "free time" posted on the calendar pages?
In "normal" mode, the level of sound on the phone ring is almost inaudible?
Why in the world did RIM change the device connector for battery charging?

Minor but annoying.

Are there fixes for these?

Thanks

You need a "today" theme. I believe this is present in OS 5 on the 9700, im not sure where.

Because microusb is becomming the global standard.

Changing demographic means changing defaults. Simple switch to flip in Themes.

Same, replace Themes with Calendar Options.

Effective volume has more to do with the ringtone file than the settings.

Because (a) a miniUSB would be HUGE on the side of any modern wireless device, especially something sleek like a 'Berry, and (b) microUSB is working its way to being a universal standard.

you can get to the "today" layout from the home screen. just hit the BB menu button, scroll to options, layout, today.

as for the sound in "normal", try messing with the volume and different tones in profile settings.
