When Sprint increased/added regulatory fees it made "an adverse material change" in our contracts. We had 30 days to cancel our service without paying an ETF. Sprint offered users who called to cancel a $20/month credit off the top of our bills for 24 months (the term of a new contract). To get this credit we had to sign a new contract, that included these new/increased fees, and be back under contract with the ETF back in place is we wanted to cancel service early. When I called to "explore my options" they offered me this recurring credit immediately to sweeten the pot and get me back in the fold. I took it.

I also get a monthly discount for being an employee of Citigroup that amounts to 27%. It comes off the top, after the recurring credit is deducted. These employee discounts vary widely based on what company you work for. The range is 5% to 27%.

If you don't like this, then wait until that one comes out. And while you are constantly in a "waiting for the *insert latest rumored blackberry device* to come out" mode, I will be taking advantage of what is currently available on the market to accomplish my mobile needs. And when they come out with something newer/better, I will not complain about it. I will wait for my contract's renewal time and buy it or if i need it that bad, I will find a way to get it. It's called normal evolution of technology.
I'd venture to say that the frustration comes more from devices with problems than just being mad that an updated model comes out. My two BB's are a Tour and a Storm, two of the main offenders. My Tour's battery door isn't the most secure (but I use an Otterbox), and the trackball stopped working horizontally like many others have (I did replace it). My Storm is better with a 5.0 hybrid OS, but it had plenty of issues initially as well.

So even though not every Tour or Storm is defective (not all recalled Toyotas demonstrated the accelerator problems either), there is enough of a track record to frustrate owners. They just want things to work like they are supposed to work.

Default Tour2 uh.....BOLD 9650 coming within 60 days to sprint

Talking with my sprint rep, he had a meeting with a RIM rep on Friday and was told to expect the Bold 9650 within the next 60 days. I will be upgrading!

I was going to immediately upgrade to the Tour 2 on Day 1 of availability, but I now want to hear more about this slider BB supposedly coming to Sprint. Looks like Sprint's answer to the Storm. My Tour 1 is working so well right now that I hesitate to simply give it up. I have replaced the trackball twice, but for now it's perfect. Of course the slider is potentially a year off, and buying the very first generation of a new type device is fraught with even more peril than usual, so a possible upgrade path for me would still be:

Tour 1 ----> Tour 2 ----> 9900/Slider.

Hopefully that would give me plenty of time to hear advanced reviews of the slider as well as some early hands-on reports of those early adopters who insist on living on the bleeding edge.

i have had the tour since it came out in July 2009. by the time the tour 2 comes out it will have been almost a year. its not like it came out yesterday. a year is a long time in the cell phone industry and im ready for something new. even if the only difference is no trackball and wifi.

I would have to agree with rambo47 as I would try the tour 2 to see if I like the "track pad" versus the "track ball", since my Sprint account is a "premier" status I am able to upgrade every year and qualify for the lowest price.
