Watch the backup process and see what it is doing when it crashes. It might, for example, and just as example, crash when processing the profiles database. Where is it when it crashes in your case?

That is not any help.

Desktop manager tells you what it is doing when processing the backup. Look at it. Run it again and again until you see what I'm talking about.

What is it doing -- what database is it backing up -- when it stops?

Figure that out. Then use advanced backup/restore to clear the database that is being processed when the backup crashes. Then, do a selective restore of that database from a previous backup.

If it crashed on something like profiles, you may want to just recreate profiles from scratch instead of restoring.

You might try the latest DM version. You did not mention the version your using.

This is usually causes by a corrupt database.
That is why aiharkness is asking what is happening at the moment it fails.
If you can isolate the corrupt database, you can clear that database and complete the backup.

Logical but I had it happen on an older version of DM. I could not find any bad data but a new DM seemd to work. wierd but who knows maybe the DM was broken by another APP on the Pc. It worked for me.

Everything in that database that you clear. That's the whole point.

Hopefully if it is contacts or calendar, or messages, you have a good backup.
