Arrow Benefits of 8700 over 7105?

Please Login to Remove!

Now that one can put 4.1 on a 7105, what advantages if any, other than EDGE (and a full keyboard if that is one's preference) does the 8700 have over the 7105?

Edge is a pretty big advantage, in my opinion.

The keyboard is a personal preference thing and can't be considered an advantage.

Other than that........

-The 8700 has a larger screen which equals more viewable area.
-The 8700 has more memory.

So other than EDGE and memory there are no major reasons to switch. I guess I'll wait for a 3G version of the 7105.

No one here can convice you to switch. If the reasons alone aren't enough do as rlibson says and see one in person. If you like the design, switch. If you don't, wait.

If the keyboard alone doesn't make you want to switch then it prob isn't worth it yet.

Speed of the device - lightning fast speed compared to whatever was in the devices before. The applications start fast and run fast - just the time it takes to get into the phone app or open the calendar or even search your messages is worth the switch.

The new Intel processor in the 8700 series makes all the difference in the world.

The 8700 is a huge step forward for RIM in terms of hardware.

P.S. The amount of memory in the 8700 doesn't go astray either, neither does the reactive lighting
