I just switched from a phone with Windows Mobile to BlackBerry Bold. I am used to having ActiveSynch update my phone on the fly whenever I make change to Outlook or just simply connect the phone to the computer. Does a feature like that exist in BlackBerry world? I have Bold 9650 with BB Desktop 6.0.0.40 installed.

Nope, Blackberry desktop manager needs to be opened and manually asked to sync with outlook.

There is an option on the synchronize tab that can be checked to "Sychronize the selected items when your device is conncted to the Blackberry Desktop Manager".

I am still on v 5.0.1 so maybe they removed it?

The option to sync when connected in DM 6 is under the Device Menu - Device Options

You can wirelessly sync contacts and calendar data using Google Sync - syncing your Outlook data to Google and then syncing the BB to Google. That is what I do.

To fully sync all your email you would need a BES or hosted BES service.

If you start DM when windows starts and set DM to sync when connected it will auto sync so to speak.

If you set up sync through BT it will sync as you go in and out of range of your computers BT. Don't do this one it is a real pain.
