i am stupid at this, but when i try to download appworld, i get an error message that my phone does not support the application. and when i try to download applictions from blackberry online, i just keep getting emails that refer me back to the website page for email entry.
I can't see your profile to see where your service provider is located, so ...
Do you have a blackberry data plan on your account? If not, then that's your problem. If you do, then perhaps you are in a country that is not supported. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
Are you sure you are connecting to the blackberry system at the moment? That is, is all your other blackberry data working?
You should try a hard reset. (With the power on, remove the battery for about 30 seconds.). Then try again.
Also, if you are using wifi, turn it off and use the mobile network. Some have speculated about this in regards to flakey behavior with app world. Worth a try.
I don't have a clue about why you can't download apps directly. Someone else posted a thread about not being able to download the kindle app and the fact that there is no longer a browser emulation setting. Search for that thread and monitor it. Maybe your issue is related. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
The Appworld out there has not been upgraded to BB OS6 yet, the only place I got the correct version is to download the 9800 software from the ATT website (they put it out there this morning) and then install via the desktop manager

where on the att website is this software?? I am having the same problem with appworld on my torch
i currently have the latest 6.0 software and the 6.0 desktop and still does not work
Same problem here on both App World and Facebook, as well as many of my third party app's acting weird or not working at all... A coworker ran the same device switch via BB Desktop, and it worked flawlessly. Another poster suggested reloading these apps from the desktop app manager, but I haven't been able to find the location of the desktop-downloadable versions of the Apps.
I guess it might be time to find a nearby ATT store....
I had to do this twice. I had BB Desktop Device switch fail on me if I attempted to import my third party applications. So I Wiped the phone and installed the latest update, and proceeded to use device switch without selecting "transfer 3rd party apps" That left me with the newest version of Facebook, Appworld, etc that came with the OS originally.
Device switch will cause problems with older apps trying to over write the newer ones on the Torch. Download the 6.0.0.141 from AT&T. Install it on the computer. Make user any reverence to other installs have been replaced. Then when you use Loader, it will see the Facebook and App World are not on the phone and the new versions will be re-installed.
