Can we please not delete improper formatted or scammer threads?
Reasons are:
Lets others see (especially scammers) and google will cache them so if someone from another site googles a name, if its used in more places would see the thread here.
Shows people what to watch out for.
Shows people we have people trying to watch out for others.
I had requested this in a PM but was not answered.

I'll look back at the most recent thread you're referring to, and see if deleting pertiment information can be deleted to the make post useless... but if it is not deleted and pertinent information remains, it defeats the purpose of having the BST guidelines.
I'll see what we can do.

There is a couple of them from recently.
Its strongly advised to leave the email intact and the user name. That way if they register elsewhere under the same username or use the email address elsewhere, a google search of either would show hits to the thread here showing they scammed someone

All those PM's are not needed.. but ok.
Anyway, I've undeleted that thread, and removed the pertinent information, however those individuals could still do business via PM. This may not achieve what we need, we'll see.

I see, that one was just improper format, im meaning those that have scammed and are caught by a pm. The formatting ones can just be an outright delete, im more concerened with leaving a google trail of scammer email addresses and usernames as google makes a nice giant record of it.
Example from another forum i read frequently:
Spam, Scam and Phishbusters forum - dslreports.com broadband community
Specifically this thread:
Ebook websites, fraud charges, Devbill/DigitalAge/Pluto - dslreports.com
Shows many people arriving at that thread after searching things in google

I would also STRONGLY suggest changing it to 25 or even 50 posts to sell in here. 10 is too easy, more will show a scammers trends to spam the board to get to enough messages to post in here.
I have my methods for pinpointing the scammers and im not too far off.
Hell id take mod duty here if you guys want, just gimme access to the banned ip's and usernames for comparison

Your point is well taken. Only downside is that it will also hamper your legitimate sellers as well. Some are here for the purpose to Buy, Trade or Sell. Nothing more.

Most of the established sellers are over 50 posts. While it wont 100% prevent scamming, it would minimize it even more.

We'll discuss it... I'm really not so keen on leaving the email or contact info for any BST post because, we all know, some users are just not going to read the entire thread to notice if the thread is a scam or not. We'll see...

Ya but that category, falls under common sense. If they go into a locked topic that even says its a scammer, and they choose to contact the person, well, theres nothing any of us can do to prevent that kind of lapse in judgement :p

Yea, there is....delete the thread so they can't click on the scammer's name.
Did we just go in a circle?

No, and not to come off as rude you are ENTIRELY missing the point.
The user, if a scammer stays banned, so let them click on the name, cant pm a banned user.
The email is not clickable, they would have to copy/paste the email and send it out, so see above where if they dont read and notice the user is banned about common sense.
Please read above where i stated if the username is banned but searchable and the email address is visable, people can GOOGLE SEARCH and the thread would pop up showing them scamming. How do you think i can tell some of these scammers before they get to scam another? I toss the email and or username into a GOOGLE SEARCH and it will show other threads elsewhere with people that got scammed by them.
Caps is not to yell but to focus on, please read that last paragraph very thoroughly.....

Really, we'll discuss it. We understand the issue and we don't need lobbying.

I do, however, grasp the concept of banning someone for their attitude. I have no issues grasping that. You may continue to act like a 3 year old, or you can knock it off and be given a break from here.
