Seems like that's the case with ATT as well. Is there a way to report this bug to RIM?

You want to report a bug for an unreleased OS that you're not even supposed to be running?

Yes, I would like to bring a bug the their attention so it can get fixed.
"supposed" to be running? according to who? What, are the OS police gonna arrest me for running it?
You think all these leaks for all these models are unintentional? If so, RIM has the absolute worst IP security in history.

My understanding is that a beta is usually internal, and maybe for providers to do testing with.
You as a general consumer want to tell RIM about a bug in a completely unsupported OS that has not been released.
You're not one of their code testers, they have an internal system for reporting bugs during beta development.
You could probably report a bug once there's an official OS but that's about it.
And it has nothing to do with IP, the OS is currently being used. It would be different if it was an OS6 beta and RIM had not even announced it.

I HATE reading garbage like this. You NEED to know how to use Desktop Manager for Mac first before blaming it.
Always worked with my 9700/8320/9800 the 9700 on OS5/6 on 2 different Mac's both running Snow Leopard. I'm also using BBDM for Mac 2.0 in the past 2wks - beta zone.
You NEED to clear out your settings and disable wireless sync on your device then retry.

I love the look, feel, and speed of OS6 on 9700.
But I did come across a problem and was wondering if anyone else experienced it (and may be found a solution)... I'm using Google Voice app on my 9700 for both calls and text. When I type a message (either new or reply), there is NO option to send it - bb menu button does nothing, neither does the trackpad.
Battery pull solves the problem for a little while, but it always comes back. Any ideas?

I have a SERIOUS feeling this is RIM going in sleeper-mode to honor their official press release of OS6 for these devices - 9700 inclusive - to test the market uptake and demand for OS6. They know the memory leak and constraints of this BB6. Sure its fun to mess with for those Bold enough amongst us - pun intended - but its the Bold 9780 we're all wanting. until QNX debuts.

Errrors
I have been running it for a day. So far I'm not a fan. I shrink my os myself by removing a lot of items that I don't need. And I get errors on start up. I put most of the files back except languages and still get the errors. The alerts sounds are gone, but you can get them back from os5 but really? Why take my sonar?
I understand the way the market is going, but don't understand why rim seems to be going so consumer. Eventually I will not be able to get a device that doesn't have os6 on it. And I feel like we went from streamlined to flashy. I don't really feel like it adds any value. Am I wrong? Don't get me wrong webkit is great. But at the end of the day I'm not impressed.

I have to agree with u. I believe they are very intentional leaks done through unofficial channels. If RIM can get Facebook 1.8 beta and the new 1.9 beta be code restricted, then I don't see any reason why they can't have an OS that's user specific. After all it's 2011 an these guys are in the business of delivering information ie. emails, pics ect. With the utmost security so how these guys are unable to keep leaks from happening is beyond me. Unless its intentional. We never heard a keep about the PlayBook specs till they leaked and that's because they didn't want us to know.
If I were u I'd email them anywhere and everywhere. After all u are the costumer, u pay for their service and use their products so damn straight u have a right to have input in tbe development in the software. Especially in this case since its a leak and there's still time to make it better before an official release. I'd twitter them if I were u.
Thanx for the comment by the way cause I feel like there should be a way for the public to communicate back to the developers to improve and make the software better which I think IS the ultimate point.
Sorry about the rant lol. But buddy who responded to ur post I think is missing the point.

Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

ok so i did that but now its not picking up the new os and i deleted the vendor file

I'm not missing the point. You jackasses aren't looking at the whole picture.
Even if RIM intentionally let the OS code leak out to the public... then they also know who it was leaked to... and what happens after the leak.
They're not going to simply leak code and not follow up on the aftermath.
They'll read these forums and blogs and quietly watch the comments on the end-user experience to gain their own feedback.
There's no need to have a formal bug reporting channel, and it would be silly to do so.
If they were looking to formally solicit feedback from end users, then they would simply release the OS code in a public beta.
"Leaking" code takes the burden of responsibility off their shoulders.

If you would like to contact RIM directly, please call them at 1 877 BLK-BERR (yes, that is their main number) and ask to speak to someone about reporting a bug in their beta software. See how that works.

Feedback: Yesterday with full battery my 9700 said 67MB of free BB and then I installed the Lookout device guard and all of sudden it started reporting 15.8MB as free mem.
Rebooted and came back to almost 60MB..
Could be glitch..

Not to sounds rude... but what the hell are some of you people running on these things??
I always take out things I dont need (truetype shit, any language but english UK, games) when installing an OS.
I have google mobile, gmail, gchat, and a few other programs and none of these memory issues.
I hang at around 80MB free, and never drop below 70MB.
More in line with your actualy comment.. I did notice it goes down in memory and then doing a full reboot or battery pull brings it back up. That could be a memory management issue.
I love this OS, haters can hate but it's way beyond OS5.
Wait for a full release before you are too critical of BETA software.

- Calm down my friend, Nothing to complain about.. I love BB more that a 5th grader. I am still on BB since 2000 and still has no urge to jump the ship.
I agree with you that memory management could be issue but here were are ONLY providing feedback and not just to complain. I still now IT IS A LEAK so I can not complain or even ask RIM to tweak it.
Peace !!
