As an honest old school Independant in the Industry 17yrs, I would love to know what the code is to view the unresettable Lifetime Call Timer and Lifetime Data Usage. I thought I had finally found it yesterday in going to Menu>Options>Status>and type in BUYR. The first few I tried it on (8530, 8230, & 8330) all worked (You have to multiply the day figure by 24, then add the hours slot). But then I tried it on similar unactivated used phones and get the ridiculous "Exceded" message. Is there another code I can enter to get this data? I have literally been looking for years.

Also, why do some of the models display it, and some do not? It has noting to do with Model, SP, or whether or not its been wiped. I think this is useful info for the HONEST used BB shops such as myself. Too many of the new guys don't bother, replace the housing, and tell customers the phone is new. I dont, and would love to prove what theyre doing is dishonest. I also think its a good tool to have for any BB end user who got a "Replacement" phone in the mail and thinks its new; in most cases it is not and this would prove it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

Sorry to tell you this but if it does exist it must be a big secret that only RIM knows because a search on the internet shows a lot of people are looking for the same thing without success.

Hate to say this, but it does work on my 9650 running 6.0.0.333 - "buyr" gives you data usage, voice usage an IT Policy Enabled/Disabled

so what you are saying in order to clear it you would need to connect the device to a BES and make a policy to reset it then disassociate from the BES to have it reset?

Case in point, some say it and some don't. I just did it on 5 8530's(3 Sprint 2 VZW) and it gave me the info. Then tried it on a 8520 on TMO and it gave the Exceded message. A Sprint 8330 gave the Execeded message too. A VZW 8330 just said "IT Policy Enabled" for both Data Usage and Voice Usage. Does this mean there is some IT program that can tell me the answer? Once again, I'm not much of a software guy, I'm a Hardware guy. I cant tell you how to set up an email account on a BB, but run it over with a truck, or drop it in the lake, there's no one better chance you have to save it than me. FYI All the BB's I have were once activated, but now inactive, and ESN's(If applicable) are free and clear...

Calebrity: No, it depends on the OS the unit is running as well as the Carrier. For example I have 4 active Blackberry's (yeah, don't ask...) 2 are on BES and 2 are not. the 2 that are not on BES, I can still get the info minus the IT Policy info - it will show "disabled". Also, of the 4, I have 6.0.0.333/6.0.0.280/6.0.0.141/6.0.0.415 and only 2 will allow the reset.

peakcelln: There is an IT Program that will allow you the reset, but I will have to do some digging to find the exact name for you.
