Strangest thing happened yesterday - all of my email dissapeared from my gmail email folder (BIS) on my device. I have my corporate email coming into the 'messages' and my gmail email coming into another mailbox folder however all messages are now gone from that folder..

On top of that, I receive notifications for new gmail messages and can search for them but still the gmail messages icon is empty . Almost as if there is a filter on the gmail folder but I see no filter on. Any thoughts?

Check with your BES admin. They may be blocking incoming BIS messages.
Go into the security settings on your device and look at the Firewall settings. See if any BIS messages are being filtered.

Thanks fior the response - ironically I'm the BES admin so I know I haven't placed any filter/block (also, if it did it wouldn't make all my prior messages go missing).

I don't see anything being filtered in the firewall...
