For some reason, this utility company that is in another part of Florida, that I don't even use, keeps calling me every night on my cell phone with this recorded "Important message" about some BS about keeping up with my current information or something. I hang up soon as I realize who it is because I don't even use that power company. But this has been going on for a few weeks now, every night.

So, I was wondering how I could go about blocking that number or possibly even that utility from calling my cell phone. Any ideas? Thank you

There are several third party applications that will clock incoming calls from specified phone numbers.

Well, it might be harder than I thought. Last Tuesday, I turned on the thing in "Messages" that shows the "incoming calls" and keeps them in my message list. (Somehow, I lost track of the "phone log"), but even though it's the exact same recorded message from the same utility, I just scrolled through my phone and noticed that they are calling from a different number each time.

I have no idea how or why they got my cell number. I am thinking it's one of those duplicate number errors or something. Phone companies don't have it perfect yet and probably never will. But blocking this might be a chore. I'm just afraid I could spend a long time on the phone and accomplish nothing if I try to call them and get them to remove my number from their list.

if you go into security you can set the firewall on your blackberry, to only allow msgs and calls from people in your contacts, there should also be an option to add a number you would like blocked.
