Default No longer connecting to home wifi

Hi, I have had my 8520 for about a month now and had been connecting to my home router without any problems. Yesterday however, I noticed the wifi logo was not lighting up - I have checked everything and cannot find what could be the problem as I have not changed any settings. When I do a manual search - it is there alright with (connected) below it, but when I check wifi settings although there is the tick in wifi box - therr is a white dash in the box to the right of it instead of a tick. I have taken the battery out and turned off router etc.. - the wifi is working fine on the computer and my ipod touch. What else can I do? Both the broadband and mobile are on Virgin - I also have mobile web. as part of my package which is working alright. Any ideas?

What OS are you using?

Is WiFi checked under "Manage Connections"?

Yes, wifi is checked by tick to left, has name of router and then to right has a white minus sign. If I do a manual scan search for networks - it picks it up, shows signal strength and it says (connected) underneath! In saved wifi profiles, it is there with minus sigh and the green signal logo to right of it. I'm not sure what OS I have - have found V5.0.0.681 if that could be it. Would doing a wireless update be any help? I have noticed another person on here with the exact same problem who also has both VIrgin broadband and mobile and the wifi stopped working the same time as mine! I am wondering if it could be a problem with Virginmedia?

I've had the same problem. The whole network is down and has been for some people for ages. I thought it had sorted itself out this morning but it's gone again now. I'm with Orange. Are you by any chance? Orange customers have been hit badly... they are aware of the problem however and I guess we have to hope that they'll fix it soon!

BIS over WiFi has been down in the EU and Middle East for a couple days, for some a bit longer, but from what I have read RIM is aware of the issue, working on it and some have had theirs return working... most not so lucky.

Looks like we will have to wait until RIM resolve this issue, I am with Virginmedia broadband and mobile is with them too, I have been looking on the Virgin help forum and there are a lot there with exactly the same problem too.

I've been without BIS over wifi since Monday. I dont get 3G at home and 2G is shockingly bad so throughout this outage I am effectively without a BB at home in the evenings. It's so frustrating.

Thankfully I'm a multi device user and have a Nexus one and an IPad but my BB is my main device for messaging.

I do hope it is sorted soon.
