RIM Could Be Preparing A Superphone
Please Login to Remove!
I saw this and thought well with all the doom and gloom that seems to dominate news about RIM how about some good news for a change?!
RIM Could Be Preparing A 4.3" Superphone
Whether it is true is another matter, but if RIM can bring out a superphone then as it does say in the article - the competition should start to worry a bit!
I personally think 4.3" is possibly too big, 4" would be big enough I think.

Re: RIM Could Be Preparing A Superphone
In related news, Samsung and HTC are both working on an Android based "superduperphone" while Apple is busy developing a "nanosuperduperiphone".

Re: RIM Could Be Preparing A Superphone
Good for them. I am sure there are people that would love that large of a screen on a BlackBerry. However, if this is true, by the time it is released, the 1.2 Ghz processor will be a thing of the past. Actually, my HTC EVO 3D already has a dual core 1.2 Ghz processor.
So, basically, as Penguin stated, by the time it is released, the others will have game changers.

Re: RIM Could Be Preparing A Superphone
Actually, I prefer a device that works for me and has a battery that will last at least a full day without recharging. Is that too much to ask for in a super-duper-nano-speedofheat device?

A 4.3 inch screen will not help battery life. At the rate these phones are progressing, with the processors and such, you're not going to get the best battery life. A full day maybe, more than that, not so much. I don't see how RIM will be able to overcome this as well.

Re: RIM Could Be Preparing A Superphone
Based on the open letter to the RIM ceo's that's out there, I doubt this is coming anytime soon. Too bad though. I really want/need bigger. When the Hercules comes out for TMO, I'm there.

Re: RIM Could Be Preparing A Superphone
It seems no one around here wants to hear good news, or even just news. This guy comes on here with what could be good news, and the first response is negative.
It's like you all enjoy watching RIM struggle, and revel in its failures.
Very odd.

I would love to hear good news about RIM. Trouble is, there's no good news to report lately.
The OP's post was a random blog entry with some vague rumor about a "superphone".
It couldn't be further from being considered newsworthy and I chose to poke a little fun at it.
I don't enjoy watching any company struggle... but the fact is, RIM is struggling and there are still many people in the tech community and within RIM who don't want to believe it. RIM's own executive team is in complete denial about the state of the company.

The troll was in troll mode 33.3.5.8: respond provocatively but without substance to thread subjects.

Re: RIM Could Be Preparing A Superphone
Yeah, I've only just realized that after watching one he posted about a kid using a PlayBook v. iPad 2.

Yeah, that one was 33.3.5.7, start a provocative but useless thread baiting the forum members.

Re: RIM Could Be Preparing A Superphone
Hey guess what....
SuperPhones are the new name for SmartPhones. There will be a switch with the upcoming generation, either Fall 2011 or Spring 2012, we'll only hear about SuperPhones.
Hell before the PB was released I can recall Mike L talking about 'upcoming blackberry superphones'
It's branding and that's it. no need to over analyze it.

Re: RIM Could Be Preparing A Superphone
IMO(!!!), this is the most stupid idea! RIM have a ton of devices already and they should cut it to 3 (I would suggest Curve, Bold, Torch) plus a tablet... Investing in all this amount of technology is a waist of time and money!
