You can set a custom ringtone for an individual contact within the contact itself, or you can edit the sound profile to use a custom ringtone for the phone in general.

For an individual contact ringtone, open the contact, select Edit, and scroll down to the alert field for a phone.

Editing the overall sound profile is done by clicking the profile icon on the top of the home screen and going into that individual profile. Just remember to use the Menu key when you're done to select "Save" or it will revert back.
