On the previous, Torch definately, BB's if you view your calender in "month view", the days on which there is alarms / appointments etc, had a grey block in them so that you can see there is notes on that date.
The 9900 as I've got it now does not display that grey marking to indicate notes on that dates, so you don't know which dates has appointments or not, you have to scroll through each date.
I see it makes the block like on the 20th in your picture if you make an appointment.
What I use is alarms and it does not make any indication of alarms set on the dates. Reason for using alarm notes instead of appointment notes, is I don't know if I do anthing wrong, but the only one I get to make a reminder with a tone is the alarm notes.
Appointment and task notes' reminders does not have an alarm that goes off?
While in Tasks, you can highlight a task and press the Menu button and scroll to 'Task Reminders' You will be able to set up tactile, audo/visual notifications.
Appointments also have this capability. While in the Calender and highlighting the appointment you wish to be reminded about, press the menu button and scroll to Calender Reminders. Same thing as with Tasks.
