Hi,

Please can you tell me if there is a way to stop operating system updates in Blackberry? I like the 8520 OS which has not transition effect, but the 9300 has lots of transition effect. The shop assistant tells me that if I buy the 8520 then sooner or later it will be updated to the same software as the 9300, but I am wondering if I can prevent this from happening. (Without just losing internet entirely).

BlackBerry device OS updates are not automatic. You have to intentionally select to do the update.

If you don't want to update, then don't. The "shop assistant" is misinformed.

No need to keep posting the same or similar questions over and over.

The 8500 cannot run OS 6 that the 9300 series runs. It does not have the processor or memory to do so. Plus the OS is device specific, meaning you cannot put a 9300 OS on an 8520.
