I have a curve 9300 that used to be locked to t-mobile (UK). I unlocked the phone so I can put my Swedish sim (telia) in the phone for my holiday. When I first put the Swedish sim in and it says Telia on top of the display I got a text from Telia welcoming me to the UK. After that when I try to send a text I get "retries exceeded" and when I try to make a call I get "no service currently available". I have checked the sim in another phone and it works fine. I've also checked in the mepd menu to make sure it's unlocked. When I try to register the phone under Host Routing Table I get 'Registration message sent!' but nothing comes back. Will my phone work when I take it to Sweden and connect it on Telias network (not roaming) or is it something else I need to do to make the phone work. Btw I don't need any of my data services to work in Sweden ie email and surfing, all I want to be able to do is call and text. I have sw 6.0 Bundle 2534 (v6.0.0.570) if that makes a difference. I really hope someone can help me as I'm going in a couple of days and I don't want to use my old phone.
Sounds like the carrier detected the Blackberry and either blocked it or because you dont have a BB data plan blocked it. A call to the carrier might help.
