My black berry is using too much airtime

Can any one help?

I ve got an old BBCurve 8320 which I use only for texting (I would like to put it on data plan but i can't afford /justify the cash for th e amount i would use it).

I did notice about a month ago it seemed to have used it's allowance (it's payg/Virgin) abit quickly. Its is very good for texting my folks as and when so I put another 10 on it.

I checked this (789) not more than a week ago and the balance was £6 + which was fair enough.

Its just buzzed me to say it needs more cash. All I ve used it for in that time is texting a Friend; about 10 x @ 10p a text is not £6!!!!!

Can any one throw any light on this?

The log shows I haven't made any calls (which I knew any way)....... has virgin suddenly decided to introduce a standing charge 0f £5 or some thing?

Do old BB do this?

Sorry about the disjointed nature of this post, I was having little trouible getting the message on the forum. It was telling me I should be posting ULRs?

If you were to contact your carrier, I believe you could get an itemized list of all charges and fees, as well current usage.

To be honest I don't have a clue who my carrier is.

I bought the phone second hand.

As I say I don't use it with data plan, just emerg calls and texting . How do I know who the carrier is? The sim is virgin.
