Default Email Problems

I HAVE PUT THIS UP AGAIN - I AM LOST !!!

Hi

I wonder if anybody can help me.

I have just bought BB 7230, my email address is set up with my provider and I am now trying to set up my POP 3 email address.

Using webclient I have installed my POP 3 email address and everything appears OK.

I have then attempted to send email from outlook to that POP 3 address, however it appears in outlook bu not on BB, irrespective of how long I wait.

Are there settings on BB that I need to look at as the web client tells me the POP3 address is set up fine.

The only way I can get the POP3 to the BB is to instal a forwarding from my email host.

I know I am doing something wrong, but I am now a little confused !

Thanks in advance

Tom

PS I have downloaded new service books - but still cannot receive emails.

Thanks

Are the messages for your POP3 account showing up in the BWC Inbox?

If not, then they aren't being POP'ed.

I cannot help.

Messages are not being pulled via the BWC if they're not showing up in the Web interface.

Default Email problems

Hi

Got back in tonight and recieved 3 POP3 emails on BB - they were also on inbox in BWC.

However I should have received 10 emails, so the service is not consistent, and i guess this must be my service provider.

Has anybody had similar problems with intermittent service ?

Thanks

Tom

a little *bump* here..

Anyone ever find a workaround, or fix?

I've got the same scenario, however, only with 1 particular email.

using the BWC, i can get BWC redirect on 2 other emails (same network, same company, just different users), but can't get the one i need...

not coming in the BWC mailbox

can mail to the blackberry.nextel email i have, and it appears on the device just fine

2.5 hours collectively on the phone with Nextel, no viable answers as of yet...

thanks for anything you may be able to help me with

k

If you set the emails up in the webclient and then send your service books everything should be fine. Webclient mail is polled, so when you send a test email to your pop3 addy, it may be up to 15 minutes before you see it. If you want faster/almost instant email, then you should not set it up on the webclient and instead forward it from your pop3 mail server to your [email address] addy, then you will get it within a few seconds of your mail server.

You might also want to verify that the email address is correct, no typos, etc.

If you are using Outlook you might want to check and see if you have opted to leave a copy on the server so that the e-mail is still there when the BWC looks at your POP account.
