My BlackBerry Bold 9780 got wet. It was inside a pouch hanging from my neck and when I bent too low, the pouch got wet about an inch into a puddle. I took the pouch out of the water immediately, but I only the phone out after a couple of minutes. After around 2-4 minutes, I took my phone out of the pouch to see it hot and the flash turned on. I took out the battery, put the battery cap back on and put it into a dry pocket in another bag. I tried putting the battery in (around twice/thrice), but every time, the flash turns on and I'm scared it's going to short circuit. Or heat up like last time. What do I do?

My iPod touch got wet also, but it was working for around 30 minutes after the whole thing. I was listening to music when all of a sudden it stopped playing, and when I looked at it, it was still functioning but there wasn't any volume. Even the volume option in the music player wasn't there; the side buttons didn't work either. I turned it off and let it dry on a towel with my BlackBerry. Help?

Likely too late to salvage anything.
Take out the battery and put the BB in a bag of rice for 3-5 days.
But it is probably too late. The damage is done.

Really? I mean, it's not like the phone got really drenched. It was just about an inch of the phone that got wet, and it was just the bottom...

Can I take it to a local cellphone repair shop and have it fixed, or is it too late to do that either?

You can try, but once electronics get wet and have power applied it is usually too late.
