bb bold battery drain at 35%
Please Login to Remove!
Hi,my bb bold is draining at 35% . This is the 3rd battery I have bought this month and that's irritating me. The same problem happens every time and I have tried almost every thing in order to prevent that. I deleted some applications and made sure no apps are working in the background , disabled media compression in settings (which supposedly must help since it helped others in other threads),lowered brightnes and reduced backlight timeout. Eventually non of this worked. What's making me mad is that my other bb curve works fine with awesome battery life. Help please.

Re: bb bold battery drain at 35%
How long does it take to get to 35%?
Are you sure the charger is fully charging the battery?
Did you buy OEM batterys not a knock offs?

Re: bb bold battery drain at 35%
So what's the problem?
Thread title makes no sense. Updated information doesn't necessarily look bad. Battery life depends on a number of factors.

Re: bb bold battery drain at 35%
I'm not trying to be funny. You are being cryptic and dribbling out info. Finally you stated the problem.
I'm not sure of the answer. The problem may be the battery, or may be the BlackBerry hardware.
You didn't answer the question above about whether the battery is a genuine BlackBerry battery (OEM) or an aftermarket battery (non-OEM). You need to test with an OEM battery that you know is good. If you can borrow one before buying, better, but you need to rule out the battery.
It could also be a fault with the battery meter of the device. I've heard of running the battery down until the radio turns off and then fully charging in order to reset the meter.
There may be other hardware possibilities. Don't know. But now that you have finally stated the problem, maybe others will have ideas other than what I've already mentioned.

Re: bb bold battery drain at 35%
I still think the battery also. Some cheap battery's do not perform well and can drain quick.
If no apps are running then it may be a hardware issue an not the battery

Ok. I didn't answer the question about the battery whether it's an OEM battery or not because I didn't know what an OEM battery means. Now that I know , no , it's not an OEM battery.I think too it's a hardware problem. But could it be a software problem ? I'm running v.6.0.0.285. What is the latest OS? Sorry for being cryptic at the beginning. By the way the battery is new. I bought it like 3 days ago. All of the previous batteries did the same thing(drained when the battery level is about 35% or 40%) Thanks.

No, I'm sure it's not the battery. It's new.All my previous batteries did the same thing.I think it's a problem that has to do with either the hardware or the software.Don't you think ?

Re: bb bold battery drain at 35%
Think. Not OEM battery. All the previous batteries did same thing.
Were all batteries non-OEM? Or was at least one an OEM battery that you know was good?
Sounds to me you don't know the problem is not the battery.

Re: bb bold battery drain at 35%
The first one was an OEM battery. It did the same thing. I know the problem. The problem is that the phone turns off at 35% !

Re: bb bold battery drain at 35%
Ok. Problem versus cause.....I get it.
But you continue to dribble out information.
So, you had this issue with an OEM battery? Did you know that battery was good? Was it a relatively new battery, or did you acquire it used and not know much about it? Did you test that battery in another device?
I still say you need to test with an OEM battery that you know is good. Of course the way this thread is going you probably will decide to disclose some more information that may change the picture.
However, if you are so sure the cause of the problem is broken hardware, get another device.

Re: bb bold battery drain at 35%
You would do well to listen to aiharkness. My suggestion would be to buy or borrow a new, original BlackBerry brand battery and fully charge it before trying to recreate the problem.
IF the issue happens again, then you can rule out a bad battery and move on to the next solution. If you plan to update this thread with more information, please provide ALL pertinent information.
No one knows your device like you do, and we can only help based on the information you give. Remember, everyone here are volunteers, and we can only work with what you give us.

Re: bb bold battery drain at 35%
You have multiple replys suggesting you try a new OEM battery or at a least borrow one if you can.
You said the first was an OEM. do you mean the original? or one that was purchased after the issue started? If it was the original it may have simply lost it's ability because you let it go below 20-25% too many times. LI batterys do not like low discharge.
Your call but seems like your getting a response from a few of us who are replying from experience

Re: bb bold battery drain at 35%
Shop around for a genuine BlackBerry battery. You do not need to pay full retail, but my advice is don't find the cheapest either. Get a sense of the price range and the middle, and buy from a reputable source.
Good luck. Fingers crossed a new battery is the fix.

That's good news. Better than having to buy a new device.
