Lightbulb Calendar integration issue

We have developed a MIDlet that uses J2ME PIM API to write some records in the BlackBerry Calendar. According to RIM documentation if the code is not signed, the app should generate a security exception. We tested on a 7130 device with OS 4.1 installed and the app worked fine.
This is what is intriguing me.
Any ideas why it does not generate a security exception?

The PIM API (PDAP) does not require the app to be signed.

RIM MIDP API displays a lock next to the interfaces being part of JSR 75. The same page states that the lock means the code should be signed in order to run on a BB device.

You are right. I was looking in the J2ME API that came with the 4.0 compiler. Seems that the API online version is the correct one.
