I am curious about this...
I have seen the bb 8700 for sale...and i wanted to know how do i know...the product i am buying is not stolen goods...i guess ultimate i want to make sure that after i buy the phone i go to update/activate the phone and they tell me its stolen?
also i say "new" because i have seen "regular" people say the have the 8700 for sale and its still sealed.
actually when i think about...is it not a matter of changing sim cards so it would make no difference?

You can make a BB work even if it is lost/stolen. All you have to do is to put your sim in and you should be able to use all basic features such as web and text. If you want to have it attached to your BES then you may want to call BB to have them release the PIN if it is attached to the account bc the PIN may not be used for webclient unless you ask them to remove it. From my knowledge, you can't track a BB like a regular phone... could be wrong. Not ethical but doable. You may want to just buy a new one bc you will waste a lot of time doing the research.
